Seems like yesterday I did this little guys Newborn session!! They grow so fast….mommy wanted to do a small photo shoot with a cake smash. Of course, we had to get a few with big brother too and the interaction between the two was so adorable! 🙂 I have two boys so I love to see that relationship! 🙂
I love Katy from Birdie Baby Boutique! For a while, I would just talk to her on the computer, Ordering Headbands from her VAST array of choices online. Katy is just awesome….the headbands that she creates are exquisite! The quality is amazing….I can send her a picture of a blanket and say “send me something” and, I swear, she knows the perfect headbands to send me 🙂 I love that!! I finally got to meet her and we hit it off instantly. Ok, so we are both a little crazy and silly, yes….but she is also just a great person, mom and smart business woman! I admire what she has done with her business. She first mentioned us getting together for this collaberation last year, because she had a dream to build the maypole! I wasn’t sure what was going on in that head of hers at the time, but we knew that it had to be spring for the field of flowers!! 🙂 It turned out perfectly…and we had so much fun! She made the perfect headbands to match the Vindie Baby dresses and the models did amazing. My job was easy!! Just show up and take pictures of this “fabulousness” 🙂 Check out some of my favorites from the shoot! Also, check out Birdie Baby Boutique HERE on Facebook to see her fabulous selection and Vindie baby HERE to see the gorgeous little clothes she has to offer! Here ya go!!
This is a special bunch because they are all related to me. These are all the kids of my cousins and they wanted to do a very special session for my Aunt for Mother’s day. It was
a surprise for her so that made it fun!! It was a big bunch but they all did great. We even managed to get the group shot which was enlarged to a 20×30 print for her for the
special day!! love it!!
I just loooove little baby boys. They are so sweet and laid back. Baby Jackson did amazing with his session and I just wanted to share a few of my favorites from his session. Natalie + Felipe welcomed this little guy into the world and he is so loved by his mommy and daddy and big brother! Check out their amazing Maternity session HERE:
Can’t wait to see little Jackson grow!!
Every once in a while, I am blessed with a session that restores my true love for photography. Every session is important to me but sometimes I have those moments where I think “this is why I do this” This is why I love photography. It captures those moments in your life. This mama had an older son, Daniel and a one year old little girl named Erin. Shirley told me that she didn’t have many pictures of Erin and this was her first professional photo session! (unfortunately I didn’t know her when she was born! LOL) She had also told me ahead of time that Daniel, her older son, was Autistic and he may not cooperate with doing a session. After hearing this, it made me really want to give this mama pictures with her babies! She is so consumed with the care of both children, it has been hard for her to get pictures done.
I am very aware of autism and how hard it is sometimes to connect with them. I have learned that the MOST important thing is to relax and not try to FORCE anything. I immediately bonded with Daniel. There was NO “say cheese” , NO “posing”, NO “you have to look at my camera” and in turn, he did look at me! He laughed with me….he hugged me, I loved it! First, we started the session and he was very calm. I sat with him and just talked to him. He showed me his Nintendo DS and he let me take his pictures. I was so excited. After we did a few shots of him by himself….it was Erin’s turn. I even think Daniel was a little upset when I stopped taking his pictures! lol My attention had turned to erin…and he didn’t like that at first….but he was okay when I showed him some pictures on the back of my camera. Then we let them all sit together and got some family shots 🙂
Erin was so calm and sweet…. just a sweet gentle spirit. It’s like she knows what her mom has to handle and she just goes with the flow! She was just so gorgeous too!! I am in love with this entire session. Not because of the beautiful shots (even though I love them!) It is because of the amazing interaction of them together that she will have forever, and that fills my heart with joy!
Thank you Shirley for letting me be there to capture these memories for you and your babies!
