Every once in a while, I am blessed with a session that restores my true love for photography. Every session is important to me but sometimes I have those moments where I think “this is why I do this” This is why I love photography. It captures those moments in your life. This mama had an older son, Daniel and a one year old little girl named Erin. Shirley told me that she didn’t have many pictures of Erin and this was her first professional photo session! (unfortunately I didn’t know her when she was born! LOL) She had also told me ahead of time that Daniel, her older son, was Autistic and he may not cooperate with doing a session. After hearing this, it made me really want to give this mama pictures with her babies! She is so consumed with the care of both children, it has been hard for her to get pictures done.
I am very aware of autism and how hard it is sometimes to connect with them. I have learned that the MOST important thing is to relax and not try to FORCE anything. I immediately bonded with Daniel. There was NO “say cheese” , NO “posing”, NO “you have to look at my camera” and in turn, he did look at me! He laughed with me….he hugged me, I loved it! First, we started the session and he was very calm. I sat with him and just talked to him. He showed me his Nintendo DS and he let me take his pictures. I was so excited. After we did a few shots of him by himself….it was Erin’s turn. I even think Daniel was a little upset when I stopped taking his pictures! lol My attention had turned to erin…and he didn’t like that at first….but he was okay when I showed him some pictures on the back of my camera. Then we let them all sit together and got some family shots 🙂
Erin was so calm and sweet…. just a sweet gentle spirit. It’s like she knows what her mom has to handle and she just goes with the flow! She was just so gorgeous too!! I am in love with this entire session. Not because of the beautiful shots (even though I love them!) It is because of the amazing interaction of them together that she will have forever, and that fills my heart with joy!
Thank you Shirley for letting me be there to capture these memories for you and your babies!

Finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and catch up on Blog posts! I had to feature this newborn session from last year first. Baby Jaxten was such a good baby.
I found out from my Newborn Questionnaire that daddy is a big Bucs fan so, of course we had to throw a little something into the session for fun 🙂
Just love this session….Baby Khyleah was the perfect little angel. Slept the whole time! We were even able to take her outside at the end of the session. I just adore outdoor newborn shots!

Andrea and Eric are special friends of mine! I have known Andrea since we both went to Gaither High school (which wasn’t THAT long ago) Andrea mentioned before that when she had a baby, I would be the one to take its pictures!! 🙂 She wasn’t kidding, and I was so happy to do these for her and her awesome hubby Eric. This session was taken last year and when they welcomed little Everett into the world, I was there to capture that too! Thank you Andrea and Eric for blessing me with the opportunity to share in this special time in your life!
and I think every mother feels this way!
